Confirmation Program
Class of 2015-2016

May 15  Confirmation Sunday.   After a year of study, the  seven young women were confirmed into the life and faith of our congregation during the worship service.

Prior Confirmation Class Events
April 22- April 24 - Confirmation Retreat
The Confirmation class  attended a Retreat at Camp Spears YMCA in Dingman's Ferry, PA from Friday, April 22 to Sunday morning, April 24.  Those who went included confirmands, mentors, several parents and the Director of Christian Education.  Confirmands worked on finalizing their Statements of Faith with their mentors, and attended a Sunday worship service, as well as enjoying the wilderness.  It was the culmination of a wonderful year together as we grow in faith ad experience the glories of God.
Blankets for Animals

From April 17th to April 24th, the Confirmation Class sponsored a community service project to collect gently used blankets, towels and other linens for animal shelters.   Eighteen (18!!) bags were collected!  Congratulations to the Confirmation Class for a successfully drive!

April 17 Confirmands attended service at St. John the Divine, NY

The Confirmands visited St. John the Divine and attended a late-afternoon service.  Here Pastor Dennis TeBeest talks to the group.

During their year of study, Confirmands visited Grace Lutheran Church, St. Peter the Apostle of River Edge, Temple Avodat Shalom and Riverside Church as well as St. John the Divine
April 3rd - Confirmands go to Riverside Church
On Sunday, April 3rd, the Confirmands  attended the 10:45 am service at Riverside Church, 120th Street and Riverside Drive, Manhattan.   
After the service, the group  toured the church.

While Riverside Church is interdenominational, it is associated with the United Church of Christ as well as the American Baptist Church.  It is well known for its Neo-Gothic architecture but also for its advocacy for social justice.

Raising money for the Spring Retreat.
Before Christmas, the Confirmation class did some baby sitting at the church.  This helped raise money for the  Confirmation Class spring retreat, and also allowed parents to  do their Christmas shopping!
