Music in the Time of Crisis
They say we shouldn't sing!

During this time of Zoom worship, it has been wonderful to discover new ways to make music in worship.  We are grateful to all who have shared their talents with us during the past months, and we hope our Zoom congregation members have been chiming in at home whenever we have hymns or responses

When we begin to worship in our sanctuary, things will change slightly,  Since singing is believed to spread the virus, there will be NO congregational singing.

Hymns and responses will be sung by a soloist from the back of the chancel.  Worshipers will be invited to (silently) follow the words of the songs.

That being said, there will still be a place for music in the life of the church!

The Chancel Choir may rehearse, occasionally, in the sanctuary, with each singer placed at a safe distance from others.  Anthems will be recorded, and then played during worship.

The Pilgrim Ringers may also rehearse, occasionally, in the Sanctuary, and may, with safe distancing, present bell anthems for worship, either live or recorded.

The Carol and Nowell Choir will be on hiatus for the time being.  We hope to get started again when it is safe to do so.

While singing is discouraged for now, instrumental music is especially appropriate for our services of worship.  Anyone who wishes to be a part of the music ministry for the fall, is invited to contact the church.  Rehearsal schedules will be developed to accommodate the participants..
